Every public source guide moves through source eligibility, metadata verification, structured generation, and machine validation before publication.
1. Source selection
OpenAlex supplies broad scholarly discovery, Europe PMC enriches health and life-science records, and Crossref validates DOI metadata. Eligible records must have stable authorship, reusable normalized source material, a journal venue, English language metadata, a DOI or equivalent identifier, and no retraction signal.
2. Source-guide preparation
Djoomba sends only normalized source records to local Qwen3-8B. The model must return structured sections and numbered citation markers. Original researchers are shown only under “Research by” for the work they actually authored.
3. Publication gates
Deterministic checks reject invalid schema, unsafe markup, missing citation coverage, out-of-range citation markers, duplication, and missing disclosures. A separate model-assisted audit checks for unsupported claims, invented sources, and overstated causality. Each article gets one generation attempt; validation failures are recorded as failed, while temporary network errors may retry without consuming another article attempt.
4. Images and updates
Only verified CC0 or public-domain images are eligible. Files are sanitized and resized before storage. Longer guides may include additional licensed images and evidence tables in the relevant sections. If no safe image qualifies, Djoomba uses a branded category cover. Source verification and article update dates remain visible.
